Music from a plague year.
Number Stations make electronic future-rock sounds. Formed in Edinburgh in mid-2018, the trio comprises modular synth wizard and noise-mangler Alasdair O'May, guitar hero and beatmeister Cameron Watson and award-winning film composer Scott Mungin. They take their name from the enigmatic broadcasts that haunt shortwave radio.
The Purgatory EP was born out of lockdown frustration, the band finding solace in remote recording, transmitting ideas across the electronic aether.
